5 Products to Protect Your Dry Skin This Winter Season

I don’t know about you, but my skin goes through a MASSIVE dry spell in the winter. Over the past two years, I was always the girl that tried to strip it of as much moisture as possible, to try and prevent breakouts, but after learning more about my skin type, realized how important moisture actually was to keep my skin feeling hydrated and not prone to flare ups and wrinkles.

To me, the softer the skin, the better- and ladies, let me tell you, it goes a long way not only for the health and longevity of your skin (no one is getting any younger here), but in your relationships. Nothing is sexier to me than when my man tells me, “you have the softest skin,” or my girls ask what products I’m using. Not joking.

Here are some of my winter standouts that I’ve been loving, to help protect your dry skin this season!

1. Agent Nateur Body Oil

This body oil will lock in moisture while ensuring that your skin stays smooth all day/night long. While a little on the pricier side, the blend of luxurious oils absorbs really quickly for a satin, dewy finish and is enriched with vitamins, antioxidants and natural organic compounds. These have been clinically-proven to firm, brighten, and visibly smooth your skin, something that I have definitely noticed upon using for less than a week! I love to put on directly after exfoliating my skin and also enjoy the fact that I can put clothes on and not feel like I’m drenching them in oil! You’ll love this-

2. First Aid Beauty The Ultra Repair Cream

One of my all-time favorite moisturizers- this is in my beauty “Hall of Fame!” I use it for all seasons, especially when my skin needs a pick me up and is on the dryer side. It's thick to cure your dry skin, but leaves no film or greasy residue. Formulated with Colloidal Oatmeal, Shea Butter, Ceramide 3 and the FAB Antioxidant Booster, it provides immediate relief and visible improvement for parched skin. As a bonus, it's great to layer underneath your makeup for a flawless base.

3. Necessaire Body: The Body Exfoliator

One of the cardinal things we forget to do in the winter is exfoliate our body! This is so necessary to shed off the layers of dead skin and give your skin a chance to soak in more moisture. Necessaire’s The Body Exfoliator is one of my faves - when your skin gets flaky and extremely dry, use this and watch your skin transform.

The formula contains: Bamboo Charcoal, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Salicylic Acid and Volcanic Pumice. All of these specialized ingredients are great for cleansing out the dirt underneath your skin, leaving you feeling squeaky clean. This is a great product to add into your shower routine at least twice a week, and follow it up with Agent Nateur’s body oil.

4. Summer Fridays Jetlag Mask

I can't rave about this product enough. Seriously. Being that I used to be on a plane almost every 10 days, this mask kept my skin hydrated and supple from the dry air above the skies. With ingredients of Vitamin C and Niacinamide, I also noticed my overall skin tone brighten, making me “look” more awake, even if I was running on a few hours sleep.

Another staple product for when your skin just needs that extra boost of hydration.

5. Earth Therapeutics Intensive Heel Repair Moisturizing Balm

For some reason, this winter I have noticed that my feet have been BEYOND dry and cracked. Almost to the point of being uncomfortable. I know that many women also struggle with this and as a result, I have been trying a lot of products to see which will combat the dryness and work the best.

Grabbed this balm from Ulta and it has since been helping tremendously. I’ve been putting on every day under my socks and have definitely noticed a difference. The blend of Alpha-Hydroxy Acid and Aloe Vera penetrates deep to soften hard skin, while Australian Tea Tree Oil, Peppermint and Cocoa Butter help to purify, refresh and protect heels from every day wear and tear. You can’t beat the price tag, either!
