Founder/CEO of OrganiCo brands, Kay Cola is a Jill of all trades. In addition to running the OrganiGrow, Glow and GoLife brands, Kay is a mother of three, author, Grammy nominated songwriter and recording artist and self proclaimed health nut.

It was a terrible haircut and years of tough haircare that left her hair in bad condition, when Kay decided she wanted her natural, curly hair back. After years of research and experimentation with all natural ingredients, she developed a formula that gave her curls life, that exceeded all expectations! The positive reaction and overwhelming inquiries for her secret inspired her to turn her development into a business.

Four years later, what started with vegan and organic haircare has expanded to include skincare, vitamins and supplements.

Here’s how Kay spends her Sundays-

Q: What time do you wake up or does the alarm go off?

A: Between 6-7 AM.

Q: What is your morning routine (specifically the first 15)

A: Unfortunately I start my day with my phone. After a few minutes on my phone, I get ready for a morning meditation and workout.

Q: What is your Sunday mantra?

A: Self Care Sundays. I try my best not to work. I like to spend time outside. But I could easily lay in bed and watch movies all day, too.

Q: What’s your go-to breakfast/brunch?

A: My go-to is a fruit smoothie, oatmeal and wheat toast. If I’m going out to brunch, I absolutely love The Four Seasons Hotel in LA. They have THE best buffet!

Q: Do you give yourself any Sunday self-care treatments?

A: Omg, I wish I could sleep all day! Truly the best self-care treatment. I use our OrganiGlow Moringa Mud Mask daily. It removes any oils, dead skin and leftover makeup from the day/night before.

Q: What song is a good representation of your Sunday?

A: Outstanding by The Gap Band.

Q: How has your Sunday routine changed over the years?

A: It’s definitely changed over the years. As a mom of three young kids, way more time goes to them. That alone will change your routine!  I don’t feel the need to be out all afternoon or evening. I’m content with spending time alone or with a few people relaxing or doing something low-key as opposed to hitting up a trendy spot.

Q: Do you exercise?

A: Yes- it’s essential for my mental health and self care. I find that as a mom it helps me reduce my stress levels and it boosts my self confidence. I feel stronger, fitter and healthier emotionally and physically,

Q: Do you like to spend your Sunday alone or with family/friends?

A: Alone if I can! I’m surrounded by people all week, so quiet time on a Sunday is heaven.  A true day off from life.

Q: Do you use any apps or products for relaxation?

A: Beatfulness app- binaural beats for meditations. I mediate anywhere from 10-30 min. I’ve been meditating regularly for at least 2 years

Q: What is your ideal bedtime?

A: Ideally, 9:30-10pm. But in real life, I probably get to bed between 10:30-11.

Q: What are some of your favorite Sunday activities?

A: Watching movies in bed. I recently watched Don’t Let Go, about a cop whose niece was murdered. He gets a phone call from her and he has to put the clues together to change the past.  My other favorite thing to do is eat lots of food. Lately I’ve been craving beignets!

Q: How do you prepare for the week ahead?

A: Mapping out schedules with my assistant. It’s helpful for me to write it all down so I can see it visually. I try to clear my head of everything from the past week, work and personal, in order to prepare for the week ahead
