The amazing Emily Orozco and I were introduced via a mutual friend that heads up talent at one of my favorite morning shows. We instantly hit it off and she even connected me to my incredible coordinator, Rebecca! You know with Emily that she’s the real deal - so authentic, hard-working and passionate about her job! I can’t wait till we can be united in NYC soon!

If you don’t know Emily, she is an entertainment news reporter and producer for Access Hollywood, Access Daily and Access Digital covering all things show business! As a local New Yorker, you’ll find her interviewing celebrities during the day and then covering high profile carpets at night. Emily is a fast- talking New Yorker with poise, humor and wit. Her interview credits range from all the top artists in the industry, including Tom Hanks, Oprah, Lady Gaga, Kerry Washington, Uma Thurman, Rihanna, Meryl Streep and Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, just to name a few!

In addition, Emily has traveled all over the East coast and overseas to cover various film/tv premieres. Her passion spreads wide in the entertainment sect, which has led her to cover some of the most star-studded, diverse events in film, television and music.

Emily previously worked at the Late Show with David Letterman, The Wendy Williams Show, Wendy Style Squad, and The Rachael Ray Show.

Here’s how Emily spends her Sundays-

Q: What time do you wake up or does the alarm go off ?

A:  On a Sunday, I don’t set an alarm! That’s my day to sleep, relax and not rush into my day. I wake up around 8 - 8:30.

Q: What is your morning routine (specifically the first 15):

A:  My first 15 is coffee, then check the news on my phone. I try to avoid social media but it's hard! Then I love to watch CBS Sunday Morning. It’s my favorite news program ever.

Q: What is your Sunday mantra?

A:  My Sunday mantra is take the pressure off and enjoy family! All week I work long hours. Television is a 24 hour gig, even entertainment news, so Sunday is my day to just lift that weight and spend time with my family.

Q: What’s your go-to breakfast/brunch?

A:  Lately I make a late breakfast for me and my boyfriend. Depends on what we’re feeling, but if we’re going wild, we will do pancakes or waffles! If I make brunch plans I have been really into The Fulton down in the Seaport. It's great for COVID times and a beautiful place with good food and cocktails. Highly recommend!

Q: Do you give yourself any Sunday self-care treatments?

A:  My Sunday self-care is a good family meal!! I’m Italian and Colombian — there is nothing more healing than food and family!

Q: What song is a good representation of your Sunday?

A: I think God Gave Me You by Blake Shelton really is my Sunday Song. I’m a Catholic and Sunday is the day I practice a lot of gratitude.

Q: How has your Sunday routine changed over the years?

A:  In my early twenties, I was so determined to be successful in every area of my life. I was hustling so hard, trying to make it in television. I spent the first 2 years of my career at David Letterman working in the Talent Department. It was an intense gig and the best thing that ever happened to me, but I put so much pressure on myself. I would wake up super early, go to the gym, eat right, work work work, and come home and sleep. There was no “me” time. I thought if I was skinny and working my butt off I was doing things right.

Q: Do you exercise?

A:  Yes, but minimally. In my teens and 20’s, I would work out so hard even when I hated it. I put my value on how fit I was. I went through a sad experience with one of my boyfriends when I was 25 and everything changed for me. I started to be kind to myself and live in moderation. I found my happiness in that sweet spot of not overeating and not overexerting. Some days I do a Hiit workout at home and some days I just stretch.

Q: Do you like to spend your Sunday alone or with family/friends?

A:  FAMILY!!! My boyfriend and I will either drive to my moms in Jersey and have a family meal or just get together as a family at someone’s house. (Before COVID of course)

Q: Do you use any apps or products for relaxation?

A:  Products are EVERYTHING for me! I have been really into self-tanning lately because spring is coming! I like The Organic Pharmacy Self Tan cream. It doesn’t smell strong like other self tanners and it’s the perfect light glow. I’m also loving BeautyCounter The Clean Duo Deodorant. I’ve tried every natural deo on the market, and this is the only one that works for me! I try to avoid apps as much as possible, because I am always on my phone. So when I can avoid being on it, I try to.

Q: What is your ideal bedtime?

A:  Seriously as early as possible! 8 pm – 9 pm! I'll take it! My boyfriend teases me because he can’t believe how easily I pass out when I hit the sheets!

Q: What are some of your favorite Sunday activities?

A:  If it’s a beautiful NYC day, I will get outside as soon as possible! We love to walk in Central Park or by the East River. On a cold winter day it’s family, food and good movies!

Q: How do you prepare for the week ahead?

A:  Sunday night around 5-6 PM, I start getting into work mode. I start looking at the headlines over the weekend and preparing for my interviews during the week. I’m not someone that thrives off routine or schedules. I like taking it one day at a time. I’m a Sag, we hate being boxed in!
