Postpartum Comfy Necessities

Knowing that I was giving birth to a winter baby, in the middle of a pandemic, I wanted to be sure I loaded up on comfy postpartum clothes to wear around the house, that still made me feel like I was a person.

In addition to cute lounge sets, I also have found the below pieces to be so helpful to me since having Colt. Would love to hear about some of the things that were must haves for you! While a lot of them seemed like such simple gets, I did a lot of research when it came to the bras and what I needed after having a semi-surprise C-section.

Since giving birth, I have been living in lounge sets. I absolutely love being comfy at home, yet still want to look put together when visitors have been stopping in. And the softer, the better. The PJ Salvage sets have been my favorites by far - just wait until you put one on, and you’ll be hooked for life! The best part - they are now doing Mommy & Me sets so you can match with your little one.

H&M Cotton T’s:

I am not a fan of nursing bras, or just bras in general, and when I first started breastfeeding, I was trying everything to push through the pain. One of the most helpful tips I got from my doula was to wear plain cotton T’s or Ryan’s T-shirts to give my boobs a break. These from H&M have been my fave and I would recommend definitely going for the black to hide leakage.

Belly Bandit Band:

This band has been my life postpartum. It has truly supported my stomach after having a C-section, by keeping everything “together.” As I’m writing this, I’m almost 6 weeks postpartum and still wearing it day and night. Belly Bandit offers numerous ones in different skin tones and sizes as well. My rec is to size up - I normally wear a size XS/S and wasn’t able to fit the S / P without their Luxe Extender, which is also easy to Velcro on if you’re worried about yours not fitting correctly.

Mesh Undies:

I loved my Belly Oil from Hatch and also can’t get enough of their postpartum offerings. They designed their collection of underpinnings with functional details in luxe feel-good fabrics, so that underneath it all, you feel like yourself. These mesh undies have also been a lifesaver. Especially if you’ve had a C-section, these do not irritate your skin or scar, and keeps everything together.

UGG Slippers:

Such a simple thing - but can’t get enough of my UGG slippers. While I can’t remember the last time I’ve put on a stiletto (that I use to wear almost daily), these have become my go-to’s, and I know many women that love to slip them on while playing outside, running errands out of the house as well. Closet staple and worth the price for the amount of wear you’ll get out of them.

HATCH Nursing Bras:

Just as important as mesh undies, good nursing bras are a must for breastfeeding. I spent a lot of time researching for the perfect ones and am really into these from the Hatch Collection. They are so soft and hardware-free, yet offer the best support for me. Plus, they come in different colors that blend well underneath any shirt. These bras are super breathable to wear all day long and don’t feel too suffocating, which I hate!
