Colt B.'s Nursery Reveal

Nursery inspiration board.png

When we moved into our house, the first room that I was so excited about decorating was Colt B.’s nursery! Being that we didn’t know if he was a boy or girl at the time we started, my mom, Babs, and I wanted to make sure the room was as gender-neutral as possible, but really be calm and zen to anyone.

With regards to color palettes, I tend to always gravitate towards creams, whites and neutrals, so I started by literally screen-shotting as many nurseries that I liked and different aspects that stood out to me.

It also was really important that these pieces could work in another house or for another baby (down the road….) - We were also able to utilize some of the furniture from our apartment, so that was helpful too!

4-1 Convertible Crib - $329
The first place I suggest starting with your nursery, is definitely the crib. It took me a while to decide what direction I wanted to go in (shape, size, style, etc.), but once I decided on the one that I felt worked best from Babyletto, it was a great jumping off point.

This one also comes in white, but I loved the tan.

Bamboo Pendant Lamp Chandelier - $185

I am obsessed with this chandelier from Ikea and love how it truly brings the room together. A little secret, it actually doesn’t serve as a light, but is just a statement piece!

Handmade Wool Rug - $611

Both Babs and I are huge Home Goods lovers - Babs sometimes has intuitions when she knows they have restocked :) -

She found this rug there and instantly knew that both Ryan and I would love it. It fit perfectly and it’s also really comfortable to lounge (or pass out) on.

The Snoo - $1207.75 / $129/month to rent

I can’t say more good things about the SNOO! He loves sleeping in it and we move him around during the day for naps, so it’s not the only place he feels comfortable in. It’s definitely an investment, but for us, it’s been extremely worthwhile!

The best part- they now have a rental program, that equates to about $4.25 a day, so you can see if it works for your baby!

French Gray Leopard Crib Sheet & Baby Blanket - $39 - $59

My mom and I both loved these leopard sheets from Carousel Designs. They have such gorgeous, fun selections and these worked for both a boy and a girl - in my world, leopard is a neutral :) In addition to sheets, they also offer blankets, mats, comforters and drapes, as well as the option to custom design what you want.

We chose to custom design the crib skirt and crib rail cover in a light grey to match the sheets.

Wooden Wall Art - $299.50

When I’m designing a room, I always want it to have some unique aspects - and this piece of art definitely did that for us. It was also important to me that his room wasn’t all things BABY, so immediately gravitated towards this wooden art sculpture when I saw it! I have spent hours pouring over Etsy and knew this from the shop - DInteriors would blend in perfectly.

I also know that it will stay with us for years to come.

Reclining Chair - $306

I had no idea how much time I would actually be spending in this chair, and am SO happy I went with this one from Wayfair. So, so comfortable and love that it rocks and reclines. Unfortunately, the particular one we got - the Abingon Swivel Recling Chair by Mack & Milo is sold out, but we linked a similar one here.

Oval Metal Accent Shelves - $107.99

These were another Babs Home Goods find! So enjoy their unique shape and great to accessorize with for books, stuffed animals and in our case, hockey pucks! We found the exact similar ones on Wayfair, linked above!

 Dresser: $223.99

This particular dresser was our old TV stand from our apartment. Many times I have found that dressers also act as great changing tables and you can store so much stuff underneath. We linked a similar one from Wayfair above.

Keekaroo Peanut Changer - $129.99

One of the best things we received off of our registry, hands down! At first I thought it was crazy to be spending that much money on a changing table, but I also had no idea how many *literal* changes we would be making a day. It appears hard, but it’s made of soft polyurethane and is water- and puncture-resistant, aka you can easily wipe it clean! It’s also BPA-, PVC-, latex-, and phthalate-free. Would encourage any new mom to get this!

Diaper Pail - $45

This diaper pail from Dékor features a sleek design that compliments any nursery. Best of all, it's easy to use, with a hands-free foot pedal that opens the lid so that you can drop in the diaper and be done.

Other helpful things we love:

-Amazon Echo Dot - helps to time feedings and play music all throughout the day, which he loves!

-Various Baskets - helps to keep toys and ointments organized.

-Drawer Organizers - I felt so much better about his clothes when they were all in one place and could be easily identified.
