AS SEEN ON NEWS 12: PROM TRENDS 2022:
While we’re so happy to be having actual Proms again this year, the task of finding the perfect dress lies ahead. Many of this year’s prom trends are taken directly from pop culture – sparkle, unexpected cutouts and Y2K inspo is what’s in! It’s no secret however, that hitting these trends comes at a hefty price point. As recently seen on News 12 in Connecticut, New York & New Jersey, we headed to Estelle’s Dressy Dresses in Farmingdale, NY, to break down the latest prom trends for 2022, as well as tips for how you can save money while shopping.

-PROM $$ SAVING TIPS:
Wear Shoes You Already Have!
· No need to buy expensive shoes that may be hidden under a long dress OR be shortly taken off
· Go unique – pair your dress with sneakers or combat boots
-Don a Two-Piece:
· Pair a corseted top with a skirt you already own or vice-versa; always good to go high-low
-Dress Swap:
· Swap your favorite dress for your best friend’s favorite
-Tailoring is Key:
· If you find a dress in your budget that doesn't fit well, have it altered.
· Most dry cleaners can do this starting around $10 and it will be more tapered to your body frame.
· Allow time for this!
-ACCESSORIES:
DIY Accessories:
· Add crystal or rhinestones to a $10 pin to take your look up a level
-Something Borrowed:
· Borrow a nice piece of jewelry from a relative to wear
-Pick 1 Accessory as Your Focal Point:
· Focus on earrings – depending on your neckline, a necklace may be overkill
-Flowers:
· Instead of hiring a florist, pull together a beautiful corsage from Trader Joe’s – you will spend half the money!
-HAIR & MAKEUP:
· Be a hair model at local beauty school and get your hair done free!
-Cosmetic Counter Glam
· While you typically need to buy a few items, work with the artist at your favorite makeup counter
· Sephora allows you to book an appt as well
-Nail Stickers:
· Ensuring no chips, can be less than $10!
· Just wear gloves!
