10 Must Have Baby Registry Items
For the last month or so, I’ve been asked for my baby registry link and inwardly getting overwhelmed that I didn’t have anything “done” or bought for the baby. We definitely had a few of the bigger items, but that was about it. The holiday season is one of the craziest times for me work-wise, so was happy to finally take the time last week to put one together.
For me, it was a little overwhelming- there are SO many brands and products out there and I felt like I was getting married all over again and putting a wedding registry together (this is supposed to be “fun,” and I should be grateful for these moments), except this was for the person I hadn’t met yet and didn’t know what he or she liked.
Two things I’ve come to understand- your registry is very personal to you and you literally have NO idea what your baby will like until they tell you! So, I tried not to be (too) hard on myself and enjoy the process.
The first thing I did, and what I would highly recommend to you, is to send a mass email to any of your family members or mom friends that may have recently had babies. I got such amazing advice from my girls and consider their experiences so sacred.
Here were the Top Ten Baby Items that I received the most positive feedback about and that I added to my personal registry. I would love to hear what you registered for, what products you loved the most and will definitely report back with my thoughts, post Baby Adler’s arrival!
XO,
Brittney
I will never forget when this box was in the entryway for an upcoming segment (by accident) on stories and the reactions it garnered. I had no idea how much of a stir THE SNOO would cause, but we’re excited to try it and see how it works for us and the baby’s sleep schedule.
Not that we’re used to sleeping a ton, but we do love our sleep, so anything that may help the baby in this way- sign us up! It is beloved by so many moms and in essence, almost acts as another you, because it automatically responds to your baby’s needs when it detects any crying or fussing. It has been said to add 1-2 extra hours of sleep for your baby because of the constant womb rhythmic simulations, so we shall see how it goes! *It’s a steep price tag but I know many mom’s that rented it and were so happy they did!
Price: $129/month
I heard from so many moms that the Doona was their most beloved item they received or bought - complete life changer. If you’re one that travels a lot, or likes to bring the baby out with you - we plan to do these things with the baby once we can-- it can fit into tiny spaces, including the plane aisle. This is definitely on the more expensive side, but as the stroller breaks down into a car seat, you won't need to purchase a traditional car seat ($200+) or a stroller until they outgrow it.
Price: $499
The Elvie has gotten so much attention because gone are the days of pumping and being chained to a chair. As a wearable breast pump, It fits directly on your boobs, featuring a motor located within the breast cup itself. This is a big departure from a traditional breast pump where the motor is located in an external box - for mom’s on the go, they say they love this wireless, tubeless, incredibly quiet, and hands-free option. **I was just told that I need a good nursing bra to keep them in place, so working on finding one that is both comfortable and easy.
Price: Single- $279
Double- $499
4. Happy Little Camper Diapers/Wipes
I received these diapers as a part of Hilary Duff’s campaign with Happy LittleCamper, and so many moms came forward saying how much they loved! Happy Little Camper products are made with gentle natural ingredients and are designed with non-GMO cotton, Aloe Vera and vitamin E. These also have an ultra-absorbent, natural wood pulp bio-core blend (no idea what this truly means but sounds amazing!), to soak up more liquid than other conventional and organic brands. For a subscription, all you need to do is select your product mix, pick the delivery frequency (always free shipping), and checkout!
Price: $26.80
5. The Keekaroo Peanut Changing Table
I was hesitant about the Keekaroo, based around the pure notion that it didn’t look very comfortable- but I was quickly told by many moms that this changing table was IT. And if they knew Ryan and how much he hated mess in general, we needed to make the investment. The soft-shell changing pad is easy to clean and doesn't require a cover, and I’ve been told that all I need to do is lay down a burp cloth on top of it. The shell material doesn't absorb fluid, is free of BPA and other toxic chemicals. It also can be passed down to other siblings, should more kids be in your future.
Price: $129.99
Definite investment high chair but have heard from other moms that they started with different models and ended up switching. Easy to clean, nicer, smaller footprint and can use until age 3!
Price: $269.00
For the amount of advice I got on baby products, my girls also filled me in on all the things that no one talks about - caring for you once the baby is born! This Frida Mom kit has all the essential postpartum items.
Price: $49.99
Such a cute tub set that comes with the mesh sling for newborns, a partial sling for infants and a space for toddlers to sit directly in the tub after. I had zero clue what tub to get but everyone seemed to love this one.
Price: $34.99
I didn’t actually register for this, but this has been deemed the “peace of mind,” item to register for by a few of my bests. Definitely on the more pricier side, The Owlet Smart Sock is the first baby monitor to track your baby’s oxygen level and heart rate—the best indication of baby’s health—while they sleep. If your baby’s readings leave preset “safe” zones, you'll receive a notification that lets you know your baby really needs you. For my girls that do have this, and if you don’t have as much experience with newborns, they felt more confident while their babies were asleep, knowing they were ok!
Price: $299
10. Hubble Connected CONNECTVIEW65 PLUS video baby monitor
Hubble Connected’s CONNECTVIEW65 PLUS is an innovative video baby monitor that grows with you and your family. You can use the over-the-crib mount to get an overhead view of your baby sleeping in the crib, and once your baby grows out of it, detach the camera from the over-the-crib mount and attach it to the magnetic mount and place it on a flat surface.
I also love the dual monitoring options. The 5” color screen allows you to monitor while you’re at home, with a range up to 1,000 feet, and when you’re away, you can download the Hubble Connected app to see your baby, TALK to him/her, all while monitoring the temperature of the room. You can also soothe your baby to sleep with the pre-loaded lullabies, soothing sounds and audiobooks or create your own personal audio recordings through the Hubble app.
