College Girl's Weekend: Boulder Edition

I’m so happy that my college girls and I have kept up on our tradition with our girls’ trips.  We try to all meet up once a year in a fun, different destination and it’s the best time.  Life gets so crazy, especially when you can’t see each other, and we all need it for our mental health sanities.  Truly the best way to keep our relationships intact.

After several zooms, we finally decided on Boulder, Colorado, and so glad we did! We typically take a long weekend for these trips and here’s what we did throughout our time there!

STAY:

Hotel Boulderado:

If you’re going to a fun city, I always love to get a little flavor of it by staying at a more boutique hotel.  Hotel Boulderado had rave reviews and had the best location to the downtown area – walking distance to restaurants, bars and shops.   The Boulderado also has tons of history – so many important dignitaries stayed there and the hotel even features some original landmarks, like the Otis Elevator.

Our rooms were spacious and great to share.

We ate at their restaurant for brunch right when we all arrived – Spruce Farm & Fish -- and enjoyed wine and coffee at their bars.  The lobby is beautiful and a cute hang out spot.  The last night we loved their speakeasy cocktail lounge, License No.1.  Delicious cocktails and very cool décor.

EAT:

My girls know I’m very serious about our food reservations and having those lined up for these trips.  We like to do one casual night and one more upscale night and loved the two places we went to:

-CORRIDA - $$$$
An amazing dining experience.  The ambiance was so sexy and food was out of this world.  Would definitely recommend going with a group or on date night.

-River & Woods - $$

This was a more laid-back atmosphere and we ate out on the patio.  Great place for groups and everything we had was also delicious

-Rosetta Hall - $ Post-hike, we hit up this food hall for lunch and drinks and would definitely come back here.  With over eight restaurants and two bars, from American to Thai to Italian, there was something for everyone.  We ended up staying there for hours on the rooftop and ordering more!

ACTIVITIES:

HIKING:

The best part about Colorado is being outdoors!  One of my best friends had just moved there, so she knew the lay of the land when it came to the best places to hike.

We did the following trails.  There were definitely some uphill moments, but it was pretty accessible to everyone and we took a slower pace.  The views were gorgeous and wouldn’t definitely recommend!

Eldorado Canyon, Rattlesnake Trail - The Rattlesnake Gulch trail takes you up the sides of Eldorado Canyon, one of Colorado’s historic State Parks. This lollipop trail takes you past the ruins of the Crags Hotel, then on to gain views of the Continental Divide.  In total, we did about 2 miles of the full 4 mile hike.

Flagstaff, Ute Trail - The Ute Trail skirts the summit of Flagstaff Mountain and is an easy trail that contours northeast along Flagstaff Mountain.  The trail curves gradually north to connect with the Range View Trail off to the west. Range View provides excellent views of the Indian Peaks as it follows the west side of Flagstaff Mountain.

SHOPPING:

Pearl Street Mall

One of the best thing about the Hotel Boulderado was being right next to the Pearl Street Mall!  This was a four-block pedestrian mall that stretched from 11th Street to 15th Street along Pearl Street and is home to a number of businesses and restaurants.  We loved perusing the shops and some of us made bigger dents than others 😊

This was the best weekend with my girls and so happy to continue these traditions on.  If you have any questions about our weekend, shoot me a DM and will be sure to answer! XO
